Yep, she’s still on the needles. I started this sweater at the tail end of June, and now almost three months later I’m finally getting to the sleeves. This is my second Featherweight. For the first I went with ribbing on the collar, cuffs, and bottom of the sweater. I decided to keep it really simple and go with garter on this version.
This one is also in a sock weight, making it much easier to knit. I like the CEY Silky Alpaca that I used earlier, but it was difficult to knit quickly with that yarn. Now I’m using ONLine Linie Cosmo and it’s nice and squishy and very easy to knit. Since I’ve gotten to wear the laceweight version a few times as it gets chilly here, I’m eager to finish the sock weight version.
I can’t stand doing sleeves or socks one at a time, so with some fanangling (technical term) I got them all on my 47″ size 5’s. Here’s hoping it will fly by so I can get back to that mermaid tail.
You know, I love the parade of baby items (and adorable photos of little Z), but it’s nice to see you working on something for yourself 🙂
Moms need handknits too, after all!
I was making SO many things for myself or socks for other adults and I started to feel like I needed to whip up baby stuff. Luckily baby stuff is fast. I’ll always have projects for me going too because baby stuff will be outgrown in 5 seconds. I can wear mine for years and years!
Love the colour. I hope you show us when you have it finished. TFS.
That color is really great! Looks cozy, excited to see it finished! I need to follow your lead on knitting things two at a time, I always finish one sock and then never want to work on the next one.
It’s looking great! I also love the color….can’t wait for a FO picture.
This is going to be so perfect! And yes, hurry– we’re all excited to see the mermaid tail! 🙂
Love, love, love the color and you are so clever to knit those sleeves two at a time. Can’t wait to see the FO!
Yes! I too absolutely hate doing a second sock or a second sleeve. So irritating. I like your idea of doing them two at once. I have so many sweaters with one sleeve that I’ve never gotten around to finishing. Or a glove with no partner… or a slipper … yeah. I’m usually good at finishing things, but not duplicates!
Sock weight is plenty laborious! Good luck.
I need to knit my sleeves like that. I used to do them flat at the same time, but ML-ing them would cut down on seaming. That shade of blue is pretty awesome, too!
Beautiful color – can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!
