How’s that title for some alliteration? I whipped up yet another pair of 70 Yard Mitts, this time for my brother’s awesome long-time girlfriend, Brenna. She’s pretty much a member of the family at this point.

She made me a lovely cowl and gave it to me in January. She made herself the same cowl in the same color. I think she was sick of the color at that point, because she gave me the leftover yarn. I thought I should put it to use making her an accessory to match her fabulous cowl. The yarn is Malabrigo Merino Worsted in the color Mariposa.

brennas mittsThis is my third pair of these mitts. I gave another pair to my friend Jenni. I haven’t taken a picture of those yet. The pattern is super easy and these fly off the needles. However, I am almost always resistant to knitting something precisely when it has a deadline. I just strain and stomp and resist the project, and basically act like Paul Rudd in this scene in Wet Hot American Summer.

Brenna: I love you and I’m sorry your present is so belated. Luckily, she lives in Minnesota, so it’s probably still full-on winter up there and these are a transition-to-spring accessory that can still get quite a bit of use this year.
