My computer is back! Hurrah! Thank you Megabyte Computer Service for your swift service. My computer also got a cleaning, which is a nice bonus. It’s nice to be able to blog with full force again. I’m down with an icky head cold today, but I couldn’t help posting something.
Check out Z’s Halloween costume so far:
I’m not working from a pattern. It’s going to be a lion hoodie when it’s all grown up. I just went with her measurements and my gauge swatch and got started. I am still deciding whether I will turn this into a raglan, or separate soon for the front and back, then working the sleeves from the top down. This could get wild! Hahahah. I’m almost through with 1 ball.
The yarn is Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in Cognac. This yarn feels so wonderful when knit. It feels good in the hank, but it really blooms under the fingers. I can’t wait to get more of it going.
I’m still busting out the toddler socks like my fingers are on fire. I don’t know how many I will make by the end of the month, but surely they will count for enough Socktober goodness to quench my sock thirst. I think I will write the pattern up, even though there are many toddler sock patterns out there. I had to pause to take step by step pictures of the heel turns and gusset pick ups. I put a few extra photos for a tutorial in my Girl with the Purled Toes pattern, and I want the toddler sock pattern to also have step by step photos of the heel turns and gusset pick ups. I’m going to try to get this pattern out with plenty of time left on my Socktober sale, to include with these three patterns that are 30% off till the 16th (using SOCKTOBER as a coupon code at checkout).
More about kiddo socks and Oshima to come soon. I’m going to crawl back in bed now.
feel better soon 🙂
Feel better soon!
That colour is fabulous, and so perfect as for a lion. Have you thought about making the hood detachable so Zoe can wear the sweater all winter? (Not that she couldn’t be a lion every week or anything).
Feel better soon!
I think I will leave ears on the hood, but make the mane detachable, so she can continue to wear it. I could see the mane being pretty distracting later, but hopefully ears will be ok.
I can’t wait to see the final lion hoodie!
Oh, no, I hope you feel better soon! But hopefully this sweater-to-be is cheering you up– I really can’t wait to see it!
I look forward to seeing the lion costume! Get well soon!
