To folks in the United States, Happy 4th of July! To everyone else, Happy Friday! Either way, it’s a good thing.
I’ve been taking a little break from my Waterlily. I have the lace done until the neck shaping on the front (so I’m very close), but it became too much of a thinking knit for the weekdays, so I cast on a Linum Tee in some Shibui Linen in the meantime. The color is Fjord. This might be the last summer tee I knit for myself this season unless some pattern just smacks me in the face with its awesomeness (feel free to enable in the comments). I believe Shannon will start a Summer Sweater KAL sometime this month and I want to be ready to tackle a fall garment without too many summer knits haunting my needles. I am making a few mods to this pattern. I am knitting it on a size 3, going down several sizes to hopefully produce a fabric that will allow me to wear this casually without a tank underneath all the time. To do this, I just cast on the size 48″, which will let me follow the numbers without changing much else, due to my smaller gauge. I will add a little waist shaping as well, as I often do.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Friday and 4th of July!
The color is beautiful. Happy Fourth to you as well!
Wish I had a pattern of ‘smashing’ caliber… I like the colors of this one anyway.
Lovely colours! 🙂 Enjoy your weekend
What a beautiful summer color. I’ve got some summer socks going in a Noro silk/cotton, plus two summer shawls – one in silk and the other in sugar cane. This is the first year I’ve knitted in the summer and I’m loving the summer knits that are haunting my needles. I say you can’t have too many 🙂
