I’ve had this Wool and the Gang Shiny Happy Cotton (color: Spearmint) in my stash for about 10 months since they sent it to me to review. It seemed the perfect yarn to make Zooey another Gemini top. The one I made her last year is most definitely too small and will have to be passed on to Charlotte one of these days. For this one I cast on 48 stitches with a size 8 needle and switched to a size 9 needle after the lace portion. It will be around 24″ in the chest and will likely fit or be slightly large now.
This yarn is incredibly smooth. It’s one of the nicer cottons I’ve worked with and has many tiny plies, so I’m hoping that means that it won’t pill much. I love this color. It’s pretty close in color to the Togue Pond I just finished and will post about soon, so Z and I can be a little matchy matchy this summer.
Love the choice in colour – looks fantastic!
Nice! I like the top down approach. For kids it is so good to get the right size. Although I mostly end up doing bottom up myself…!
This is so cute … The Gemini top has been on my queue for two years now, but I definitely want to knit myself one! This one is really cute, it will look great on Zooey! Does she like the colour?
She seems to so far…
I’ll keep my fingers crossed then that she still likes it when you’ve finished it! 🙂
Very bright and cheery, although I notice not purple. Risky.
I know, I know. I did show her the color before I got started and she seemed into it, but toddlers are notoriously fickle.
I love this color, and talking about horoscope, it’s also piscis color (my zodiac). I love what you do, I think you have to put a lot of time and effort…Hope you have a nice day! send you a big hug!

ohhhh so cute!!
Cute sweater. That is the best thing about having more than one child- if the first one doesn’t like it, the second one might.
