Congratulations to soknitsome who was the winner chosen by the random number generator from my 600th post! I have sent you a copy of Chevrolicious via Ravelry, and I will be collecting your contact information to share with Sweet Georgia Yarns as well so you can get some gorgeous Bulletproof Sock to play with!

I finally have some SSKAL 16 progress to share. I’m making the R&R Hoodie by Tanis Lavallee. The yarn is Purewash Worsted in Lotus. This is my first time knitting one of her patterns or using her yarns, and I have to say that so far they are both delightful. The yarn has a wonderful bounce and squishiness to it. I think it’s going to be a perfect throw-on-over-anything comfort sweater. r&rThe ball band for the yarn instructs the knitter to alternate skeins every couple of rows since the yarn is hand dyed. I don’t always follow those kinds of directions, but since this yarn has multiple colors involved, I wanted to avoid any pooling. So far, so good. The pattern is well-written and I can’t wait to wear this.

I’m still nervous about the zipper, but my LYS owner is an amazing seamstress as well as the best knitter I know, so if I get too freaked maybe she can walk me through it. She taught me how to do my first sock heel turn and I’ve been an addict ever since. Maybe when I get over this zipper thing my whole sweater world is going to change too!

This pattern is going pretty quickly. This is about 5 days’ progress while working most of those days and watching a couple of episodes of Mr. Robot and knitting at night. I love the speed of worsted weight knits.
