Fantoosh is finished and I love it dearly.

This was a fun and relaxing knit that also let me work at a looser gauge to give my wrist and arm a break from smaller gauge knits. I used most of a skein of Colinette Jitterbug in Elephant’s Daydream. Aside from accidentally making an additional repeat of the lace chart and leaving it in place, I made no modifications to the pattern. This is the small version of the pattern, and it’s nice to know a 400 yard skein of sock yarn is enough for this shawl, even with an additional repeat. I have no doubt that I will make this pattern again.

I have already worn it three times in the past week. As soon as it came off of the blocking board it was wrapped around my neck. This color is a staple in my wardrobe and will fight right in as a neutral item. I highly recommend this pattern if you feel like doing a lace shawl because it is well written, produces a beautiful item, and is easy to memorize so you don’t have to carry around the pattern and look at it constantly. If you do like I did and accidentally make an additional repeat, you should know that the final edge chart will not line up as it should when you work it. I worked it as instructed and then realized the eyelets weren’t lining up as extensions of the leaf like structures, so I had to rip out a few rows and re-position the eyelets so that they weren’t floating in the middle of the final bell shapes, connected to nothing.

You can never be too experienced of a knitter to make mistakes or sometimes miss the obvious things…
