I’m feeling a little SSS is happening for me. Usually that refers to Second Sock Syndrome, which is a common ailment among sock knitters, but in this case I mean sweater. I’m making a Little Oak for Zooey, which is the exact same color as the one I made for her little sister a few months back. Charlotte’s version I finished in almost exactly one month (aside from putting on buttons). This one I started immediately after finishing Charlotte’s in May, and here we are almost 5 months later…
I can tell myself that she can’t wear it yet because it isn’t cold, but really I just have been avoiding it. I love the color of the yarn (Manos del Uruguay Alegría in Magenta). There are other colorful things I want to work on more! Since she’s put in demands for a new sweater that I’m going to have to improvise a kid-version of, I decided I’d better get back to this one. At the very least, I can make myself work on the sleeves in the movie theater when we go to see the My Little Pony movie that will be a part of my immediate future sometime soon. Or it can be travel knitting when I go to Rhinebeck. This sweater will be finished before the end of the month. I’m determined, and I said it on the blog, so now it has to happen, right?
Thank you for reminding me why I’m happy that my kids are grown & I never see them. 🙂 You’ll definitely need some knitting for My Little Pony. This sweater seems perfect! (Sorry – does my lack of My Little Pony make me a horrible mom??)
This yarn is amazing. I love the colour too. I recently had to reknit a mermaid tail blanket (massive) that got lost in the post. NIGHTMARE
