I’ve been very distracted by the appearance of spring and the lovely flowering trees here. I also lost my knitting mojo for a couple of weeks. I’m still working on the large brown sweater I was before (off and on but mostly off) and also these socks for Matt. They have been background knitting for awhile. The past few days I half heartedly worked on them while reading The Power (which is amazing). This yarn is ONline Supersocke in the City Colors. The New York colorway is shown here. These are just some simple toe-up socks.
Wool socks and a sport weight sweater are not high on my list of priorities as the weather gets warmer. On the first day of spring I told Zooey and Charlotte that it was the first day of spring and Zooey exclaimed, “But Mom! It’s been spring all along!” It gave me a giggle. We are enjoying the lovely flowering trees here. There are some magnolia trees (I think) that get lovely huge pink blossoms on them. We call them tulip trees. They bring me so much joy, but the blossoms also fall in about two weeks, so we’ve been wandering and soaking them in when we see them.
These socks might not be finished until fall, but they will likely travel around in various bags to movie theaters and on car trips and while reading for awhile. I’m at the heel flap, which is the only slightly thinky part on these things.
And I’m off to knit outdoors! Happy Spring!
I love the green)
‘Tulip trees’ link takes us to “The Power”. Certainly seems like a terrific book ! But I still want to know what you guys call tulip trees …
Socks lookin good. I haven’t even tried to knit socks, yet – although I have a Craftsy course and many hints from many soures. I think it’s because I inherited my mama’s horrible ankles, and wouldn’t want to demonstrate the wearing of any socks I might make, alas !
This colorway is definitely representative of spring.
Oh wow! I LOVE that sock yarn! So pretty!!
That is a beautiful green!
