I started a Kinton Top recently. This one has been in my favorites for quite some time, and it was actually gifted to me last June, so it seems like the time is right for finally making it! It’s by the lovely Jennifer Kelley.
So far I’m really enjoying the pattern, and especially this Manos Alegria in Celadon. This yarn is buttery soft. My oldest daughter has become super picky about the feeling of yarns and she has a cardigan out of this yarn that she adores. I’m looking forward to wearing it.
I’m making the pattern mostly as written, but I decided I would add a few short rows for some shoulder shaping. I’m much further along than the picture above. I think I will also put in a wee bit of waist shaping as I find the straight up and down tops are not always flattering on me when they have positive ease (a wider circumference than your body measurement).
This color and pattern feel like a perfect fit to me. I can’t wait to be further along and see how it is turning out. I have another finished top to show soon, but the pictures I took last week by myself with a tripod did not turn out as crisp as expected, so those will have to wait for some assistance.
Happy knitting!
Your knitting in bloody exemplary ! – such evenness (dunno if that’s a word …) is to be longed for. 🙂
Why, thank you!
This is a beautiful color. I love it. I also love how I get exposed to knitting patterns I wouldn’t have found myself on Rav. I added it to my faves.
Thanks! I also love being enabled to discover new designs!
