I’m in love, and half awake in these shots. This knit has been blocked since July 25th (thank goodness for Instagram posts to help me remember when knits start and end), and I want to take it out in the world! I wanted to catch the morning light here, but I’m also wished for more sleep. Choices. The knitting won.

Vasarely was an immense pleasure to knit (aside from the user error detours that had me ripping back a few times). The yarn is Anzula Milky Way in Nimbus (blue) and Charcoal. I loved this yarn and it feels like the perfect silky summer lightweight shawl. It was difficult to find, but I scored two colors I like at Figtree Yarns from the UK.

I followed the pattern exactly as written. As mentioned above, I messed up a few times. The shawl progresses from an area with fewer grey lines to increased grey (or contrast color of your choice) lines. I misread the pattern and forgot one of the increased grey lines during a transition and had to rip back. I also had trouble starting this when I was in San Francisco and wanted to carry it around with me, but didn’t have the time or brain space to just slow down and get it started. The pattern is perfect. The user was not.

I can’t wait for just a hint of a chill to take this out on the town. I can definitely wear it at my office, anytime, since when the air conditioner is running in my office it blows directly on me. I have plenty of this yarn leftover and maybe I’ll turn it into a striped summer tank next year. This summer I’m finishing Tarmac, and hopefully another little top I have on the needles, and then I think I’m done with summer knits. I’m way too excited for fall knitting. I’m imagining a loooooong navy cardigan of some sort, and I already cast on something out of reclaimed yarn that I’ll share soon.
