I actually finished these socks back in July, but you know, it was hot then and I promptly took a picture and forgot all about them. I was trying to update my Ravelry project page the other day and saw that I hadn’t put them there or blogged about them, so here they are. The yarn is the gorgeous Miss Babs Estrellita in Biker Chick and the pattern is Monkey Socks by Cookie A.
I got this yarn at Rhinebeck in 2017 and cast on the socks in January of this year. They are fraternal twins since the dye varies quite a bit in each, but I love them just as they are. Monkey Socks are so fun to make. I made these toe up. My only issues with the Monkeys is that these are a little tight around the gusset. To be fair, I’m doing the pattern upside down (going from the toe up).
I think I need to remember for myself to make a bigger gusset area next time, or just size up a little. They feel great when they’re on, but they are a little snug getting my foot through them.
Oh, the knitting going on in my house/office/everywhere! I am behind in blogging about things for sure. Charlotte’s little purple sparkly Estrellita sweater is finished but she currently hates to be photographed, so we will see what kind of picture I can get there… I have started an Oshima for myself, am still working on Foldlines, and want to start Matt a sweater ASAP so he will have a new one this season. I also have 2 out of 4 teacher gifts left to knit! And some socks. And probably new mittens for the kids…
I’d better get back to the needles.
You can always use my method of finding a cute child size hanger and photographing it like that… It works when the live model is unavailable (or unwilling 😉 )
Good call! I will do that IF I can get her to take it off! I think it’s going to be her new never-not-wearing piece. She was even sleeping in her Little Oak that I made last year. While complimentary, I would have to sneak it away to give it a wash every couple of weeks. Thank goodness wool is pretty smell resistant!
ooh, sparkly!! and they look so good next to that tangerine sofa, too!
Really pretty!
These socks are so pretty. Honesty–I’m loving the photo composition of the socks, the color and the background! As for the yarn–it’s just gorgeous!
The yarn looks great with that pattern! I often have a hard time using multi-color yarn like that, I should try this one!
