I was working like a fiend on Oshima over the weekend as we finally got a teeny bit of snow here in Arkansas. It was excellent knitting weather. I was chugging along as fast as my fingers would take me.

However, I forgot when I originally ordered the yarn that I added a couple of inches the last time I made an Oshima. So even though I thought I ordered enough yarn, as I was working that gorgeous collar I realized I was going to run out of the Brooklyn Tweed Loft in Button Jar. After going through the five stages of grief quickly, I started looking around online. I found Wool and Company and picked them because I only needed one skein and they have free shipping. Cool.

I thought it would be an extreme long shot, but I asked about dye lots in my order form and miracle of miracles they had the same dye lot!! That definitely makes up for some of the sting of running out of yarn. I’ve never had to deal with two dye lots in Brooklyn Tweed yarn so I don’t know if they are a company where those can look drastically different or not. Either way, I’m glad I don’t have to find out and potentially stripe in two different lots changing back and forth every couple of rows. I am extremely grateful for this because this sweater already has two strands of yarn at a time going–you hold two strands of Loft together to get the right weight. Trying to keep four going might do me in at the end.

The yarn should arrive in a couple of days. In the meantime, I have some socks going and I’m dreaming about what sweaters will come next. I’ll keep you posted!
