In the midst of a glut of sock projects on my needles (all mostly stockinette), I needed something fresh. I decided to go looking for a shawl worthy of some stashed Anzula Squishy in Iris.
I landed on Sempervivum, a gorgeous lace adventure by Jared Flood. So far this is lovely. I really like this slightly variegated yarn paired with a lace. The first chart went by in breezy fashion. I’m currently on the second chart which has lace rows for both the right and wrong sides of the project. That takes a bit more concentration, but I think it’s going to be well worth it.
It’s not quite a project I can knit while reading, but I’m excited to have something that challenges my brain a bit more. I’ve been in a world of stockinette lately since each family member seems to need new socks and my recent striped sweater was also a ton of stockinette.
On with the lace!

What a luscious yarn. I struggle to make myself do harder projects that require more thinking. I definitely get around to them, but I mostly knit to relax, so doing hard stuff all the time would be counter productive!
The yarn color and the stitches are gorgeous! đŸ™‚
