A mohair sweater makes total sense right now! Ha! I fell in love last week with Cumulus Blouse after seeing my friend Michelle picking out yarn for it. I have no real use for a long sleeved sweater right now. I get to have input over the temperature in my office, so I don’t keep it like an icebox (hooray!). There’s no practical reason I should be jumping into a long fluffy sweater, but I am anyway. And it’s going great so far.
I’m using Shibui Silk Cloud in Cove. I love this color and that was the primary reason I had to do it right freaking now. This yarn is pretty similar to Kidsilk Haze, but with slightly more silk content. I’ve been knitting at work and have little fluffs of mohair everywhere that I have to vacuum occasionally, but otherwise all is great.
I’m curious to see how sheer this looks on when it’s finished. I like the idea of it styled with just a dark bra on as shown in some of the pattern sample photos, but I’m not sure I’m that brave. I have a nude colored tank I can always put on under it in case I’m not feeling super brave, but it also might not seem as sheer in the dark color as well.
Today and yesterday have been HOT here, so I might put this on the back burner soon and go back to the Mirage tank I started but haven’t blogged about yet. It’s far more weather appropriate and wearable in the imminent future.
I hear you, I just finished a mohair sweater myself! But it’s been a really cool spring so far, so I think I’ll still get a couple weeks out of it… and fall always comes back around eventually!
This color is gorgeous. Do you like Shibui mohair more than Kidsilk Haze?
Yes, I like the Shibui a little better. For some reason the Kidsilk Haze doesn’t feel quite as soft and irritates me just a teeny bit.
