This is my first Tegna. Love it. I made this one out of Manos Alegria in Eucalyptus and I adore it so much. I had a slightly smaller gauge, so I went up one size to get the finished size I wanted. I love the crop with high waisted jeans and shorts. I think it will make a nice layer over long tunics in cooler weather as well. Woman models front of knitted crop top with lace edge

I think I actually made this about a half and inch shorter than the pattern specified. Alegria is superwash yarn and I knew it would likely grow a bit when I blocked it. It did, but it all worked out as I wanted. I know I should probably be washing all of my swatches to know how much they will grow or fluff when wet, but I’m just impatient. And if I suffer the natural consequences of a too small or too big garment due to my own haste, I have no one to blame but myself. Woman models back of knitted crop top with lace edge

I did leave off of the sleeves because I was running out of yarn. I was contemplating leaving them off anyway so I could wear this more often in summer heat, and then the yarn decided that for me.

This is the first of three Tegnas I’ll post up on the blog. As soon as this was finished I cast on one for Zooey that will be a tunic. I love the lace part of this pattern. It’s engaging, and then after the knitting is a complete breeze. Check it out.
