We had the loveliest full moon the other day. I admired it for several days. It might sound hokey, but I felt so full of energy. I reorganized TONS of things in my house and went crazy putting things in containers and straightening with a frenzy I haven’t felt in ages. It was really refreshing.

Meanwhile, in the background, there are always socks. These happen to be made with some Regia yarn in a colorway called Moon Night. They are from one of the Arne and Carlos color series. I’m a huge fan of the Arne and Carlos colorways. There have been several of these series, I believe, and I have to stop myself from googling right now to find out if there are more, because I know I will just enable myself.

These socks are for Matt. I think he wore through several pairs of socks last year and he’s due some new ones. Regia yarns come with a 10 year (INSANE) guarantee, and they mean it. I wore a hole in one set awhile back and they replaced it without question. This yarn was actually the replacement yarn.

There’s not much to say about the knitting of these. I did wind the single skein into two of equal weight and found the spot where they matched. I like to do that unless there are very long repeats that will require wasting a lot of yarn to make them match. In this case it was only a couple of yards. They’re toe-up stockinette, and I’ll put in a heel flap that starts at the bottom of the heel and continues up the back of the heel. It’s my favorite for making durable socks.

This project will likely live in the background and fill the space between other projects, and will serve as a take-along meditative knit.
