Summer seems like it will be on its way out soon (in Arkansas) but in the meantime, I’ve finished my final warm weather sweater. It’s Catchfly made with BC Garn Tussah Tweed in the color Rust Aqua. I used just a little under three skeins for this project.
The project called for worsted weight yarn on a size 2 needle. That sounded like a hand cramping nightmare if I’m honest, so I wanted to see if I could get gauge with a lighter weight yarn, and I pretty much did. This yarn has a lovely softness about it with a bit of sheen. I think I am going to like wearing this piece.
The weather here is still fairly hot, but the temperature should be dropping very soon. I can’t wait for the cooler weather! I’ve been knitting for fall and winter since July and I’m ready to use the cooler weather knits. Catchfly will probably be washed and put in the cedar chest to hibernate for the winter very soon. In the meantime, I guess I’ll enjoy wearing a new top for just a little longer.
That looks great on you! Love the color too.
I love this. I agree with Jeannie, the colour looks so good on you, and it fits very nicely, too!! I have always been a little hesitant to knit anything with a lace pattern at the front (then again, I haven’t knit a lot of garments yet anyway), but this looks very good! (I like shirts like these a lot, but not if I have to wear something else under a T-Shirt to cover the bra).
