It’s been a struggle to blog lately. It hasn’t been on the forefront of my mind due to political chaos, mass panic in the news, an increase in the local collective struggles, and seasonal woes from many, many grey days. However, from previous bouts of seasonal woes, (for me) the best thing is to keep going as best as I can with social time and activities that nourish me. The blog has taken a backseat to more pertinent life matters, but hi again.
I’ve been working on a sweater for Matt for awhile. I made him a grey one exactly like this a year ago but never blogged about it because I thought I might write up the pattern. A year later I still haven’t, but he liked it so much that I am making a second in a different color for him.
It’s made with Kelbourne Woolens Scout in Scarlet Heather. I’m making a pretty straightforward saddle shoulder sweater. I love set-in sleeves on sweaters and I’d never made a saddle shoulder version, so I decided to give it a try. I’m further along than this picture suggests, due to the lag time in blogging about this. I’m hoping to finish it and hand it off by the end of the week.
Yeah, I can imagine that politics took a big toll – it is a lot to stomach. I hope you get better soon and that with the longer days the seasonal stuff diminshes quickly!
The sweater is beautiful – is it a fingering weight yarn? The colour is gorgeous, I hope knitting on this helps as well!
Thanks. The yarn is DK. I made him a fingering weight sweater two years ago and I’m still recovering! 🙂
That’s good to know – Philipp finally said “I think I’m going to buy sweaters” and we have looked at patterns. One pattern he likes IS fingering, and it’s almost exclusively ribbing. I’ll … try to get one of the patterns that use worsted weight first. 😉
