I saw this back in February on Instagram and fell in love instantly. The pattern is called Striped Wedge Pullover by Frog & Cast. The yarn is Purl Soho’s Linen Quill. Sweet Potato and Honey Pink are the colors I’m using. I wanted something that felt summery, but also had enough contrast to make the colors pop.
This was my first foray into spring knitting, but I haven’t gotten very far. I’m almost to the short rows that make the v-shaped wedge. I’ve gotten distracted by Patenten and Charlotte’s birthday sweater, but I’m getting close to finishing one or both of those, so I’ll be back into this full time soon. We’ve had wacky wacky weather so far during this pandemic, so it’s been difficult to want to work on a spring/summer top when it’s cold and rainy.
I think I’m really going to like wearing this when I eventually finish it. It feels a little like fashion does not matter very much in the wake of a global pandemic, but it still is my number one coping skill for anxiety during this time. I’ve dabbled a bit with sewing, because Matt has a sewing machine, and I wanted to learn how to make some masks for the family. It went better than expected, so I may try to whip up a Scout Tee soon. It looks like it would be within a beginner’s capability. But I’ll never give up the knitting.
What are you working on for spring and summer?
Love the colors! Such a nice pop during these stressful times. Reminds me of eating creamsicles in the summer.
Good to hear about your sewing success. I tried figuring out this beginner sewing machine that I’m borrowing from my partner’s mom and it was a disaster. I have had some luck with embroidery in the past and might try out hand-stitching.
I’m currently working on the Songbird Shawl which has been so fun to knit! I’m going to cast on this pattern from Pom Pom for a spring tee. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sanctuary-4
this is lovely!! I’m crocheting a Toothless and a Lightfury currently. =)
