Hey, I made more kiddo socks. These are two different pairs for kids that have fall birthdays, Levi and Charles. These are made with leftover Bittersweet Woolery Glamor Gams in Iceling for the lighter color, and some leftover Schoppel-Wolle in black. They are super super soft, since the Bittersweet Woolery yarn has some cashmere in it.

The pattern is my Kiddo Kicks. Though I put sizing in the pattern, I always ask what the shoe size is for the kids I’m knitting the socks for, and with some light googling it’s pretty easy to find out how long they should be. So I use the width specified by the pattern and customize the length.

This is a great way to use up leftover amounts of sock yarn. It’s fairly important to pick things around the same weight because “fingering weight” can vary quite a bit. It can be a fun way to throw yarns together that might seem to wild in other settings. These pairs are fairly tame, but I don’t usually bother with contrast heels and toes so that was a nice change to make them a little more fun.

The second pair is shown with Colinette Jitterbug Elephant’s Daydream for the toes and heels and Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere in Teal.

I anticipate cranking out more kid socks this season. I have a pair with some green gradient on the needles for another friend, Oliver. After that, Charlotte should probably get a few pairs since I realize she is between all the kid sock sizes we had on hand from Zooey. That’s a gamble because she can be really finicky about knits, but I can always pass them on to younger babes if she rejects them.

I have much sweater news to share soon! The downside of being a non-monogamous knitter is that it sometimes feels like I don’t have enough done to post about a project I’ve already mentioned, but I’ll have updates on Marshal and Foldlines soon.
